This year I resolve to:

--get a handle on my finances. I just borrowed $600 from my dad today to hold me over until March. I really appreciate him loaning me the cash. I hate asking for handouts. I should be adult enough to handle my finances myself, not resort to spending frivilously and ending up in the lurch. I should be just fine now, if the numbers I crunch tell any tale.

--lose weight. Let's face it, in the words of William Murderface, "I'm the fat one." If I can get down to a weight that I'm happy with, then all will be right with me. I don't have a scale. I can't afford to go out and buy one right now. I'm trying to eat better and exercise more, so that will probably help.

--find someone who rocks my world : Check. That one's already done.

--quit/cut down on smoking. If I do this, it will cut down on the money that I spend every month on cigarettes, thereby allowing resolution number 1 to proceed more smoothly.

--keep my home in order. I need to stop being such a slob. I need to keep this place in such shape where it's like people are going to be coming here every night. I'm about 85% of the way there, so that one is getting done.

I think that's all of the resolutions currently. I really hate New Years Resolutions, because more often than not, I don't keep them because they're too hard for me to keep. The reason I have five of them is that at least one or two can, and will be accomplished by the end of 007.

I think all this unnecessary stress and depression is making my stomach go all weird. I really have nothing to be depressed about. I just need to focus on the task ahead and go at it full force. Progress is better than nothing.

Wow. It's dusty in here.

*blows the dust off the old LJ*

I missed this thing. This has been the year of re-discovering old things, I suppose. I just recently logged into my Friendster account for the first time in about a year and a half.

Oh well, protocol is the same as the MySpace and Blogger journals.

1. I say what I want when I want. If you don't like what I say, don't read it.
2. You are welcome and encouraged to comment on anything I write at any time, no matter how much you disagree with me.
3. I love you all.

Just woke up from falling asleep on the couch. Between being sick and trying to get stuff done, I've been sort of tired lately. Oh well, my bed looks comfortable. I will be there in a second.

Went online to check my grades and I did well, again. As usual.

Developmental Psychology - A
History of the English Language - B minus (linguistics class, really really hard).

Wasn't worried, expected about that. Next semester is gonna be a killer though, but it should be fun because I'm really getting into more content-based study. And I have a teacher I've had twice before that I absolutely adore. Oh well, enough talk of school for a while.

New Years 2005 will be held at a swamp down in Dagobah. Not really, but that's just another way to say Yoda's house. All details will be forthcoming in the next couple days.

I am just about done with my X-Mas shopping. Only a few more items to pick up. Nothing extravagant. If it were up to me, it would be a Very Dollar Store X-Mas for everyone. Not because they deserve it, which they don't, but because everything is so frickin' expensive. My apartment is beginning to look a lot more X-mas-sy. I put up this little door hangy thing on my door and put more ornaments on my little tree (it has ornaments on there, but I wanted more. I also wanted something to draw attention away from the pre-placed, permanent cardinal bird ornaments. I think this used to be an old person's tree). I've also recieved several X-mas cards from people, which are on display for all to see. Just gotta hang up a little ornament chain thingy that my mom gave me, and that should be just about it for Christmas fun at Andrea's.

Looking forward to doing stuff with the fam for X-Mas. I always do, usually because it's loads of fun and no one really gives me a lot of crap about anything. I really don't have a lot of crap that needs to be recieved though. I'm sure I'll get asked about school, which is no problem Work, which is no problem. I'm sure my great aunt will ask me why I don't have a boyfriend or if I'm going to church every Sunday like a good Catholic, which I'm most certainly not doing. It's usually a riot with the Gioia side of the family. The other side is a tad more subdued. Maybe a lot of tads more subdued. The Gioia side is a raucous, loud affair. It's nuts!

I think that's all. Hope you have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Merry Kwanza, and a great New Years.

Found this on Ross's journal, who found it on Courtney's. You can find their journals on my 'friends' page. I'm just too lazy to put the link up.

One thing I noticed was that despite how metal heavy my playlist is, the 20+ songs that came up in the shuffle were on the other end of the spectrum. How absolutely tragic.

At any rate, here you go.

How many songs? 5168

Last artist: ZZ Top

Sort by song title
First Song: 03-Opeth
Last Song: "Zurich is Stained" - Pavement

Funny that both my first and last albums are both Zep albums. I have every Zep album on my computer, cause they're my favorite band of all time.

And now, for the news

I am no longer manager of Scarlet Whore. It was a mutual decision, not made by me, but made by the 7 people that make up my band. It's okay. I was gonna quit at the first of the year anyway. It was becoming less fun and more of a chore. I'm retired, officially, from music at 24. Time to focus on the tasks that are more pertinent than music. I'm content with being just a fan.

I'm in the throes of finals week. I'm really confident about one final, and semi-confident about another. I did shitty on my last linguistics test, so I really have to do well on the final if I want to get a B in the class. My Developmental Psych class is no problem whatsoever. Shit, I don't even have to try on that one. It's multiple choice and easy.

The new System of a Down album is fan-fucking-tastic. Not that any of you are particularly fond of SOAD, but I am, goddammit. They're one of the only newer metal bands that I care for, besides Shadows Fall and Meshuggah. I highly recommend that you add it to your collection.

Speaking of music, I'm looking for the perfect X-Mas album to put me in the Christmas spirit. The only one I own is the South Park Christmas Album. If anyone is at all familiar with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, let me know if their Christmas albums are worth my download time.

I think that's it. Wow, this is the longest LJ entry I've written in a while. Yay, procrastination.

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want--good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

I am soooooo tired. That's what i get for staying up late, erm...early, in the morning.

News:

1. RIP Mustafa Akkad (Halloween horror film creator -- he got killed in the Jordan bombings.) and Samus Aran (Samus Aran was named after the Metroid character of the same name), the spider. Samus is the spider of my best friend Jason. She was found dead in her aquarium the other day. Jason was very sad.

2. BIG NEWS. My band has a new singer, who will do backups and some leads. Her name is Jody Cash. Anyone care to venture a guess as to who her great uncle is? Don't say I'm lying. She has proof in the form of old old family pictures. Wow, it's like being close to the Man in Black. Fun times.

3. Met a really cool duder this weekend. His name is Brian and he lives in Arkansas. However, he was born in, and up until two months ago, lived in Scotland. Remember, if it's not Scottish, it's CRAP! He's a cool dude.

4. Hung out at Gingham's for about 3 hours this morning with Yoda, Josephus (his name's Joe. I just change his name from time to time. Yesterday it was Josephus, the week before it was Mojo Jojo, I think when I go to his house tonight, I will christen him either Giuseppe or Josephine. Haven't decided yet.

5. I have clean laundry now. That's always exciting.

Oh well, so ends another week, my dear friends. I'd like to extend a hearty welcome back to Case, who finally decided to grace us with his Livejournal presence. Now keep it up, dude. You're in London, it's not like you're next door.

What is it with me and these British dudes? Maybe it's the accents or the fact that they're as nuts about tea as I am. :)

Anyway, off to Josephus's house. Rock out, dudes.

Not really. I've just got the goddamned Pantera song running through my head. I've had it all day. That's what I get for watching the fucking video.

Hold on, gotta take care of some stuff.

*blows the dust off the ol' LJ*

Much better. Now, on with the show.

It got really cold here really fast. I gotta drag out all my winter clothes now. Fun times, considering my closet is a mess and I can't find shit in there anyway. It's also puts me in a precarious position. I hate wearing socks. I never wear them if I don't have to. Now, however, my feet are freezing, but I hate socks. What a decision.

I see a lot of you still post to the good old LiveJournal. Don't worry, I've been keeping up with everyone. Wish I knew where my friend Rich was. He hasn't posted in for-freakin-ever.

@Ross - I'm cheering for the Sox.

I just can't bring myself to ever cheer for the 'Stros. Fucking bumblebee fag shit. And they're all fucking punks, especially Backe. I want him to get hit by a bus or something more gruesome.

Not a lot has been going on over in these parts. Still metal, still managing the black metal band. Livin'. Keeping on keeping on. Same shit, different day.

Oh well, time to go to church. (No, I have not found god. Church is a word I use for my sunday ritual -- "Adult Swim" night at Joe's house. I do it every Sunday, just like normal people go to church.)

That's all. Later, friends.

I have had Hash Pipe by Weezer stuck in my head for the last week. Why is it that we always get the songs we hate the absolute most stuck in our heads? I can't stand Hash Pipe, but it's been on repeat for days in my noggin. Oh well, so is life.

Here's a recap of my week

Monday - worked, went to school. My first class is gonna be a piece of cake. I had the same prof I had last semester. This woman is stellar and likes me, so it's gonna be cool. My second class is going to violate me in the ass over and over again. It just screams HARD! Oh well, I'm a good student and a huge school nerd, so I'll survive.

Tuesday -- didn't do shit. Took Nix to work, picked Nix up from work.

Wednesday -- hung out with Nix until he needed to leave for Texas. He didn't want to go. I didn't want him to go

**Note : I've been gone a long time from LJ. Nix is my boyfriend. His real name is Robert. Don't call him that or he'll kill you and piss on your corpse**

Thursday -- Worked, had people over, paid for my wedding dress (I'm in a wedding. I'm a bridesmaid. Yep, I am required to wear a dress. When I get married, it'll be in jeans and a fucking Mortician or Anal Cunt shirt), went over wedding plans with Toni (the bride). We're having limo trouble. Such a big wedding party, we aren't all gonna fit in the H2 limo.

Friday -- worked, didn't do shit except read stuff for school when I got home. No one was free to go out.

And today, I fucking worked. Had to get up at 7. On a Saturday. My boss was being a dickwad. I just finished this huge file yesterday, and he had me redo the entire thing because he marked the diagnosis down wrong. Ugh, that wasted a couple trees.

Supposedly people are getting together tonight to go to Kriegers and then for drinking games. I'm not too big on the drinking games. I don't need a game to drink. I think I'm gonna go to Kriegers though.

My phone got turned off today. Bastards. oh well, it's my fault for not paying the fucking bill. But I got it paid. Now my credit card is pretty much maxed. Not just on the cell phone payment, I had other shit on there too. Oh well, at least I have enough gas in my car and enough cigarettes to get me through the next 36 hours.

Nix'll be home Monday morning between 6:30 and 8:30. That's gonna be a long fucking day.

Story of my life.

Hollah,
ANDREA
